First folds

Begin with a single line.

A sheet changes when its edge rises from the table. One face receives light; the other keeps the shadow. The fold is a small decision made visible.

The crease makes two surfaces from one. Start there, then compare the three light studies.

Material notes

Paper, graphite, air.

These objects are drawings of paper, not products or photographs. Their gray faces come from simple planes, gradients and fine grain. Nothing here is offered for sale.

Texture stays quiet here. Keep the form clear before adding marks to its surface.

Light studies

Three quiet views.

Choose a study to change the original illustration below. The movement is yours, not an automatic slide show.

Original paper study
Fold 01: a standing band and its shadow.

Each drawing keeps the same gray family while changing the relationship between planes.

Quiet rooms

An imagined place to look.

A quiet room does not need to be empty. It needs a little distance between the object and the next thing. This fictional studio has no real address or appointments.

A drawn room can be suggested by light alone. The open white column leaves room for that thought.

Atelier

A working sequence.

Draw the outline. Mark the crease. Leave the unlit face quiet. Then look again at the space around it. This is an original illustrative journal.

Use the editable shapes to try your own arrangement. Keep the outline simple enough to read at a distance.

Reading guide

Follow the material.

Start with First folds, then compare the three Light studies. Every link stays in this offline journal. Escape returns to the entrance; the menu gives another route.

This file works without an internet connection. With scripts off, all the readings appear below the entrance.

Paper editions

Three imagined forms.

Standing band. Low field. Three pleats. These are names for original drawing studies, not merchandise. Their geometry can be changed in the editable SVG source.

A standing form, a landscape and a repeated fold make three different rhythms from the same material.
