A study in quiet materials

Welcome to Strata, an imaginary notebook of rooms, objects and changing light. Each scene begins with a simple shape and a small question about how it holds the space around it.

Stone meets paper. An opening makes a shadow.
A room waits for the afternoon.

A fictional design demonstration. All scenes are original illustrations.

The room

A quiet place for the eye to rest. Stone, filtered light and the small movements of a leaf give this imagined room its rhythm.

Quiet forms

A round opening. A softened edge. These original objects study the space between something solid and the air around it.

Layers change the shape of light. A stack becomes a landscape, and a single fold gives it a new horizon.

Light studies

An afternoon drawn in warm gray and pale green. No place to visit, no object to buy: only a small collection of imagined material scenes.

About these studies

Strata is a fictional material gallery. The rooms and objects are original drawings, not photos of a real place or goods offered for sale.

This offline demonstration has no forms, booking, payments, tracking, storage or external requests. Its controls only change this page.

The layout studies a white mineral editorial language. The type is the open-source Outfit family, a substitute rather than the commercial type used by the reference.

Use the six dots to choose a scene. Pause stops the crossfade. Reduced-motion settings turn off playback and transitions.
